Mentors are amazing, thanks. Cat and Stephanie, too.
Feedback session:
- Rob: More coffee beans
- Crowd is too big for unconference post it system.
Leslie: Maybe move them outside to the patio so people can file by?
- Scheduling online.
- Scheduling in person!
- Unconference planning in Melange/virtually (email to carols required)
- Some planning and writing of postits at the hotel the night before
- Summit much better this year than last.
- Add more time between accepted orgs announced and proposals being opened, so we can make leaflets/videos
- Add some longer session slots/tracks
- Fail/Pass/Partial as outcomes of a project (email to carols required)
- Hard time limits on the time to add and move sessions(email to carols required)
- Badges shouldn't be single-sided
- SummitApp (to be written by Crawford!)
- More chocolate! Or just chocolate next year.
- Chocolate fridge
- Org name on badges the same size as real names
- More/better food at breakfast
- Etherpad difficulties, too much wiki editing and working protocol out at the moment, maybe have the notes page for each session setup ahead of time.
- Zurich!
- Still want double sided on the badges
- Large floorplans next to the schedule boards
- How to run a session wikipage to instruct people to take roll at each session, as sometimes attendee lists didn't get recorded this year
- Update the wiki to say "I was there" on session pages if you're not already there
- Use the big monitors in the halls for sessions and maps
- Remotes for the projectors!
- Use IRC, not face to face
- Bring swimsuits!
- More planning for the music session at the party
- More restrooms
- Introduce ourselves at the start of the summit
- Collaborate more on the wiki before the conference
- Google Eng presentation on why they're so awesome!
Carol: The reason we didn't is this is mentor only, so if you promise to be good, we can.
- More demonstrations!
- Force-hire googlers as mentors.
Carol: We don't force people, only people who have time.
- Mentor pool for people that want to be mentors but aren't open source contributors.
- It would be nice if Android people came, so open the conference to everyone
- Discuss tech talks in advance on the wiki or in the hotel
- Discounts for the shop
